Hi there,

Hope someone can help. I've been asked to find a way of easily importing
hundreds of photos into a set design, as staff of our reguarly have to do
these imports and find it very time-consuming.

I see that PowerPoint has a seemingly useful "add new photo album" option
that does exactly the operation required.

However, I was to create a design template to use in place of the standard
one but cannot work out how... We just want to be able to put some custom
text and empty text boxes on a page with space for two photos. I've worked
out that i need to create a design template and edit it in slides master
view, but as for creating the boxes to put photos in etc, nothing seems to
work...

Can anyone point me to some good resources to learn how to do this?

thank you kindly...

The photo album feature unfortunately doesn't use photo slide layouts and
placeholders.

You can choose a theme when you create the photo album (it's at the bottom
of the photo album dialog), but that still doesn’t force the images to use
the picture placeholders -- it just uses the "blank" slide layout. So that
means a lot of manual work: applying a layout with a picture placeholder and
then copy/paste to get the pictures into the placeholders. You could
probably code this to make it go faster -- how's your VBA skills?

If I were in your shoes, I'd look into Image Importer Wizard, a slick little
add-in from PowerPoint MVP Shyam Pillai. http://skp.mvps.org/iiw.htm I
believe the latest version will do what you want.
